2018 Scarlet, Gray, & Green Leadership Award Recipients

Last Friday (April, 13th 2018), student leaders across Ohio State’s campus were recognized for their leadership efforts at the Student Leadership Awards ceremony. Presented for their dedication to improving sustainability efforts on campus, the Office of Student Life Energy, Management & Sustainability is proud to announce the recipients of the 2018 Scarlet, Gray, & Green Leadership Award:

Michelle Wentling

Michelle is a fourth year English major finishing her studies here at Ohio State. She has worked countless hours throughout her time at Ohio State to bring sustainability awareness to all walks of the university. Not only has Michelle served as the President of both Students for a Sustainable Campus and the Sustainability Council, but also as the committee chair for the university’s new environmental awareness week called “Time for Change Week.” Even though Time for Change Week is only in its second year of implementation, Michelle has helped revolutionize sustainability outreach here at Ohio State by igniting this new tradition.

John Conroy

John is a third year Operations Management major who has been involved with Ohio State’s Best Food Forward and Food Waste Fighters organizations. After researching conservation and sustainability on a study abroad to Costa Rica, John furthered his commitment to sustainability by assuming the role as President of the Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations student organization, where he currently consults for Green Columbus. Additionally as an intern for the Earth Day Network, John was a member of the team that planned the March for Science involving over 100,000 people and sister marches on six continents.

Vikas Munjal

Vikas is a fourth year student majoring in Public Health with plans to finish his studies at Ohio State this semester. Throughout his time at Ohio State, Vikas has been heavily involved with the Undergraduate Student Government’s Sustainability Committee. Currently serving as the Director of Sustainability, Vikas has revolutionized environmental community engagement here in Columbus. Through the inception and organization of the Seeds to Service program, Vikas has fostered a growing impact of environmental stewardship and service throughout all of Ohio State.
