Off-Campus Recycling and Trash

Living off campus comes with a lot of hard decisions, but one easy decision you can make is to be sustainable! Before you throw something in the trash, ask if it’s recyclable. All glass, paper & cardboard, metal and bottle-shaped plastics are good to go in the recycling. Sadly, things like napkins, dirty pizza boxes and plastic cups or to-go containers need to go in the trash. Make sure to rinse bottles and cans before you throw them in the recycling. As Green Buckeyes, we want to recycle as much as possible but when in doubt throw it out! If the wrong items or too much food grease is in the recycling, it is contaminated and has to be thrown out.
