Student Staff Highlight: Ecuador

Last May, our very own GAA Austin Simon spent two weeks in Ecuador engaging in a cultural exchange trip, where he and other Ohio State students were able to spend time teaching and learning from community members of the Quilloac community. While on the trip, Austin was also able to check out how different parts of the country engage in sustainable practices. The Universidad de Cuenca, where the program was based, encourages students to recycle and properly dispose of waste through use of marketing displays. Austin was also able to take a visit to Parque Nacional Cajas, where they limit the amount of visitors per day to preserve the land and keep the animals safe.
